Andrea Arnold wins Jury Prize in Cannes

FISH TANK
British director Andrea Arnold just won the Jury Prize at the 62nd Cannes Film Festival. She is sharing her price with South Korean director Park Chan-wook (THIRST).
Arnolds FISH TANK tells the story of 15 year old Mia, whose life gets out of hand when her mother brings home a new boyfriend. Mia is being played by Katie Jarvis, who is not only acting in her first leading role but in her first role altogether.
Andrea Arnold has had a lot of practice in getting prices. Her short film WASP won the academy award in 2005. Her first feature RED ROAD was given the Jury Prize at Cannes in 2006.
Both films were also screened very successfully at our festival programme.
