britspotting cooperates with Freie Universität Berlin: British and Irish Culture for Berlin students
Starting on April 1st 2010 britspotting, the biggest British and Irish filmfestival in Germany, will offer a film and culture programm to Berlin pupils in cooperation with the Freie Universität Berlin.
SCHOOL OF LIFE-expanded will directly go to Berlin schools. The new programme will be bookable online for one year and therefore adapt flexibly to the stressful everyday school life and the tight curricula. A specially trained lecturer will present a short film programme and a work shop teaching film analysis and British and Irish culture to the class.
The different short film programmes and associated work shops will be developed by students of the FU Berlin. Starting in the wintersemester 2009 / 2010 philosophy and humanities students will be able to attend a practise based project. Lecturers are members of britspotting Beatrice Behn (deputy festival director) and Dagny Kleber (Head of short films) who will be assisted by Christine Spangenthal-Eickelpasch (secondary school teacher, Englisch teacher with spezialisation in anglophone film analysis).
There will be three short film programmes including according work shops available which are tailored to specific age-groups and required language skills. All films will be shown in the original version without subtitles and treat children and youth-related subjects.
